Abstract
The present study explores the relationship between reasons for living and coping in a group of 45 incarcerated women between 18 and 30 years old. The instruments used were the Reasons for Living Inventory for Young Adults (RFL-YA) and the Brief Cope Inventory. It also analyzed some sociodemographic variables such as age, marital status, level of education, place of birth and residence time in Lima; and legal, as legal status, crime, prison time and judgment, among others. The results showed a positive and significant correlation between three areas of RFL-YA, Family Relationships, Future Expectations and Positive Self-Evaluation with Active Coping.
