Abstract
El objetivo central de la investigación fue conocer las representaciones sociales de familia que mantienen los adultos jóvenes limeños entre los 20 y 30 años y de manera secundaria, indagar si había diferencias en relación al sexo del participante y su situación familiar actual. Para ello, se realizó entrevistas a 15 personas entre los 20 y 30 años, que hayan culminado una carrera universitaria o estuvieran estudiando una, que fueran solteros y no tuvieran hijos. Se halló que su representación social de familia aún reflejaba creencias o ideologías tradicionales, siendo la imagen que refleja a este objeto social un conjunto de personas unidas que se apoyan, comparten y que mantienen afectos positivos entre ellos. Pero, adicional a los elementos vinculares, había una referencia muy marcada a la familia nuclear, entendida como madre, padre e hijos, considerándose esta la ideal e incluso mejor que otros tipos. También, incluía una visión similar a la de la teoría ecológico-sistémica de Bronfenbrenner, insertándose a la familia en una sociedad, siendo esta influenciada e influencia, en tanto sería la responsable de proveer y formar a nuevos miembros. Asimismo, resaltó que aunque tenían una visión igualitaria de roles entre hombres y mujeres, mantenían estereotipos de género, principalmente aquellos asociados a la mujer como cuidadora. Finalmente, se comprobó que efectivamente estas representaciones marcaban las opiniones y valoraciones de distintos escenarios asociados a la familia.
The key aim of the thesis was to identify the social representations of family that have millennials between 20 y 30 years old and specifically, to inquire whether there were differences associated with the sex and familiar situation of the participants. In order to accomplish this, 15 interviews were made to persons between this age ranges, whom had o have been studying in university, that were singles and haven’t have kids. Was found that their social representation of family was still under the influence of traditional believes or ideologies, been the image associated to this social object a group of people that gives support, share and love each other. But, besides this bond, there was a strong reference to the nuclear family, understood as mother, father and sons, considering this the ideal one and even better than other types. Also, it included an idea as the one proposed in Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory, conceiving the family inside a society, been it influenced and influence, because it was the responsible of providing new members and educating them. In addition, stand out that even they considered that the roles for men and women should be the same; they keep some gender stereotypes, as the referred to the woman as the caring one. Finally, it was proved that this representation determined the opinions and evaluations made about diverse scenarios associated to family.
