Abstract
This research sought to know/understand the conceptions of kindergarten teachers about conflict in the classroom and /how to resolve it/ its resolution, as well as identify the roles they assume and understand the relationship between their conceptions and proposals for conflict resolution to the situations presented. This study was located/focus on data/within the qualitative paradigm and its design was phenomenological. We interviewed 8 teachers who were teaching in kindergarten classrooms at different private mixed educational institutions around the city of Lima. The results showed that most teachers consider conflict as a difficulty for children to resolve a situation on their own and the main source of conflict they indicate are characteristic of the developmental stage of the child as the frustration and self-centeredness. They also reported that in the conflict they assume a mediating role, although the terms that were used to explain it are not consistent with the revised literature. As a teaching strategy to resolve conflicts, they listen to the parts involved in the conflict and follow different steps with the children to reach their solution, but finally, they are the ones who always tell them what to do to solve it.
