Abstract
The present research aims to relate and compare ideal sensibility and observed sensibility in a group of fathers with preschool children. For this purpose, it were evaluated 13 fathers aged between 28 and 56 years old (M= 38, DE= 7.94) with children aged between 3 and 5 years old. (M= 56 in moths, DE= 10.45) from the district of Chorrillos. For the evaluation of the sensibility it was use the adapted version of Maternal Behavior for Preschoolers QSet from Posada, Moreno & Richmond (1998 in Posada, et al. 2007) in ideals report mode and observation mode. It was found that there is a moderate and significant relation between ideal sensibility and observed sensibility of the participating fathers, as well as significant differences between both constructs. With reference to scale Contribution to Harmonious interactions, in the mode of report of ideals it was found a higher and significant score than what ideally expected, according to the theory; while in the observed modality were not found differences with the expected score. On the other scales (Safe base support, Supervision and Setting Limits) a lower and significant score was obtained with regard to the ideal expected in both modalities. On the other hand, significant differences were found in the sensible behavior in function of the father socioeconomic status. Finally, it was found no relation between observed sensibility and the age of the fathers, neither difference in relation with the sex of the child.
