The objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between Emotional Regulation, Body Dissatisfaction (BD) and Symptomatology related to Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Eating Disorders (ED) in students from a private university in Lima Metropolitana. The study included the participation of 95 university students, whose ages were between 21 and 27 years old (M= 20.23; DE = 2.09). The SCOFF questionnaire (Sánchez-Armass et al., 2012), The Body Shape Questionnaire (Franco-Paredes et al., 2018), the Borderline symptom list (BSL-23) (Soler et al., 2013) and the Emotional Self-Regulation Questionnaire (Gargurevich y Matos 2010). According to the objective, it was found that the higher the score in Emotional Regulation (Suppression and Cognitive Restructuring), the greater the presence of BPD-related symptoms. It was identified that the higher the IC score, the higher the degree of BPD symptoms and ED symptoms. It was found that the greater the presence of ED symptoms, the higher the level of BPD symptoms. Finally, this research managed to show the presence of risk factors in the population studied, important information to be used in preventive and intervention strategies in this subject.
