The instruments used were Instagram Motives Questionnaire (IMQ), Instagram Patterns of Use Questionnaire (IUPQ), and Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R). To address the association between the variables, correlation analyzes were performed. The results showed that the Attachment Anxiety dimension correlated with Emotional Escape Seeking, Attention Seeking, and Information Seeking motives and with Passive Use, Social Approval, Discomfort, Social Anxiety, and Negative Comparison patterns. In addition, Direct Avoidance dimension correlated with Social Anxiety and Self-deprecating Comparison patterns, and Reverse Avoidance dimension correlated with Souvenir, Emotional Escape and Information Seeking motives, and with Loss of Control pattern. Finally, regarding the contrast between groups, it was found that women scored significantly higher than men in all the reasons and patterns of Instagram use, except for the Passive use pattern.
