Abstract
Peru is characterized by its high rates of school violence among members of the educational community. At the Latin American level, it is among the countries with the highest percentage of bullying victimization among the student population. Given this situation, this research contributes to the debate on the importance of educating with a gender approach. The reasons that justify this research are based on the normalization of the violence registered in the high rates of violence that are registered in today's society, both inside and outside the school environment; and in the absence of research on the gender approach and prevention of school violence. In this way, and with a purely qualitative methodology, based on the documentary study and the analysis of bibliographic sources which refer to the implementation of the gender approach in schools in the province of Quispicanchi in the Cusco region, through the of workshops such as the recognition of the value of boys and girls, knowledge of women's rights and the rejection of all types of violence in the educational and family spheres; This research shows that the gender approach reduces and prevents school violence among members of the educational community in basic education and thereby breaks the erroneous paradigms that exist in our current society about the implementation of the gender approach.
