Abstract
Actualmente, existe poca investigación académica desarrollada en comunidades rurales del
país. Por este motivo, para contribuir a la literatura científica generando más evidencia
empírica, la presente investigación se planteó el objetivo de identificar, describir y analizar
las concepciones de bienestar y valores de los pobladores de San Lorenzo, comunidad rural
ubicada en la provincia de Jaén, Cajamarca, Perú; así como la relación entre las variables
mencionadas. Los resultados encontrados muestran cuatro metas de bienestar: Buena finca
de café, Conseguir dinero, Educación para los hijos e Infraestructura, servicios y
transporte. A su vez, los valores identificados son: trabajar, relacionarse con los demás y
apoyo y compañerismo; mientras que los antivalores son haragán, solitario, borracho
escandaloso y hablar mal de otro. De esto, se infiere que los valores mantienen una
relación compleja y dinámica con las metas de bienestar que se manifiesta en las prácticas
sociales de dicha comunidad.
Currently, there is little academic research conducted in rural communities. Therefore, to contribute to scientific literature by generating more empirical evidence, this research aims to identify, describe and analyze the concepts of wellbeing and values of the people of San Lorenzo, rural community located in the province of Jaen, Cajamarca, Peru; and the relationship between these variables. The results show four goals being: Good coffee farm, raise money, education for children and Infrastructure, services and transport. In turn, the values identified are: work, relate to others and support and companionship; while negative values are lazy, lonely, drunk and outrageous, and badmouthing. From this, it follows that values have a complex and dynamic relationship with wellbeing goals manifested in social practices of that community.
