adultas mayores.
The main objective of this research was to analyze the experience of resilience in older adults who live alone and belong to a religious community in Metropolitan Lima. The study is qualitative in nature and the phenomenological approach was used from a reflective thematic analysis design. The participants were 10 female older adults between the ages of 61 and 91 who belong to a religious community. A semi-structured interview was applied per participant. The results showed that spirituality is a transversal factor to individual and social factors that promote resilience through strength in faith and social support from the religious community. Furthermore, although the feeling of loneliness occurred frequently in the participants, spirituality contributed to resilience against loneliness. In conclusion, strengthening the individual, social and, mainly, spiritual factors that promote resilience are necessary for the development and well-being of older women.
