Abstract
La presente investigación describió la comprensión del sentido de comunidad de las
integrantes de la Organización Trans en la ciudad de Lima. Esta tesis se presenta como una
investigación cualitativa y exploratoria, realizada a través del método fenomenológico, bajo
aspectos éticos relacionados con la investigación y especialmente con el tema de estudio. Para
recopilar la información se llevaron a cabo cuatro entrevistas semiestructuradas para analizar
el sentido de comunidad en las participantes. Según McMillan y Chavis (1986) este sentido de
comunidad se comprender como un constructo multidimensional, con cuatro componentes:
pertenencia, influencia, satisfacciones de las necesidades y la conexión emocional. Los
resultados revelaron que el sentido de comunidad está marcado por un alto sentido de formar
parte de la Organización trans en la medida que se comparte una historia de vida trans, una
identidad social como organización de mujeres trans, las formas y niveles en que las
participantes aportan a la organización a través de la devolución de aprendizajes y/o
experiencias en espacios públicos y privados, así como recibir beneficios económicos y de
reconocimiento, los cuales permiten identificar una percepción en la mejora de la calidad de
vida derivando a un bienestar colectivo. La conexión emocional construida a través de la
confianza y el intercambio de las experiencias sociales, comunitarias y de historias de
experiencia de vida trans en común, actúa como un elemento cohesionador.
The present research described the understanding of the sense of community of the members of the Trans Organization in the city of Lima. This thesis is presented as a qualitative and exploratory research, carried out through the phenomenological method, under ethical aspects related to the research and especially to the topic of study. To collect the information, four semi-structured interviews were carried out to analyze the sense of community in the participants. According to McMillan and Chavis (1986), this sense of community is understood as a multidimensional construct, with four components: belonging, influence, satisfaction of needs and emotional connection. The results revealed that the sense of community is marked by a high sense of being part of the trans Organization to the extent that a trans life story is shared, a social identity as an organization of trans women, the ways and levels in which the participants They contribute to the organization through the return of learning and/or experiences in public and private spaces, as well as receiving economic benefits and recognition, which allow identifying perception in improving the quality of life leading to collective well-being. The emotional connection built through trust and the exchange of social and community experiences and stories of common trans life experience acts as a cohesive element.
