Abstract
The research explores the relationship between the citizenship experience and the identifications with Peru and its ethnic groups. Participants were born in mayor proportion in Lima. They were between 18 and 56 years old and lived in Lima city (N= 79). Scale of “citizenship experience” was created, conformed by three factors: “`perception of effective citizenship”, “social membership” and “feeling of equality”. Furthermore, it was found that Peru identification and White-Peruvians identification increase a positive citizenship experience. In the other hand, people identified with ethnic groups: Afro-Peruvians, Amazonian and Andeanwould notassociate with integral citizenship experience.
