Resumen
El objetivo de la presente investigación es describir las concepciones sobre la disciplina según
ocho entrenadores de fútbol juvenil. El estudio se basó en la metodología cualitativa con un
diseño temático, por lo que se construyó una guía de entrevista junto a un caso hipotético para
profundizar en la indagación. El análisis de información abordó las siguientes áreas: finalidad
de la disciplina, visión del aprendiz, estrategias para la gestión disciplinaria e influencia del
ámbito socio-deportivo. Se concluye que la concepción de la disciplina se acerca más a una
visión tradicional y no a un enfoque del desarrollo sociomoral. La mayoría de entrenadores
conciben la disciplina como un medio de control para alcanzar objetivos deportivos, perciben
que los deportistas están más influenciados por factores externos en la indisciplina, por lo que
mayormente las estrategias empleadas se basan en lectura/advertencias de regímenes
disciplinarios, sanciones/castigos y uso de la palabra (llamadas de atención/intentos de
diálogo). Se discuten estos hallazgos desde una mirada contextual, puesto que los entrenadores
subrayan que están inmersos en un entorno caracterizado por la presión de conseguir resultados,
falta de recursos e insuficiente apoyo para la gestión de la disciplina.
The purpose of this research is to describe the conceptions of discipline according to eight youth football coaches. The study was based on qualitative methodology with a thematic design, for which an interview guide was constructed along with a hypothetical case to deepen the investigation. The information analysis covered the following areas: purpose of discipline, perception of the learner, strategies for discipline management, and the influence of the sociosports environment on disciplinary management. It is concluded that the concept of discipline is closer to a traditional view and not from a socio-moral development approach. The majority of coaches conceive discipline as a way of control to achieve results, they perceive that athletes are influenced more by external factors in indiscipline, so the strategies employed are mostly based on reading and warnings of disciplinary regimes, sanctions/punishments, and the use of the word (call-outs/attempts at dialogue). These findings are discussed from a contextual point of view, as coaches underline that they are immersed in an environment characterized by the pressure to achieve results, lack of resources and insufficient support for discipline management.
