The main objective of this investigation is identify and characterize the coping strategies used by students of plastic arts before and after Covid 19 to manage academic problems. While other objectives are compare the differences between both moments, and observe if the practice of plastic arts could work as coping strategies. To fulfill these objectives, seven students of different specialties of plastic arts were interviewed, they were asked about the problems they have to face in the academic field and how they deal with these problems, what specific actions they realize to manage them before and during the Covid 19. Then, these actions were classified in two groups, emotion focused (distancing from the stressful source and focused on the emotional regulation) and problem focused (Ask others for help, realize a cognitive effort to solve a problem and concrete actions to solve a problem). The results show that students use both types of strategies, usually combined. Similarly, it was discovered that during the Covid 19 some strategies were more used than others such as realize a cognitive effort to solve a problem and distancing from the stressful source. Finally, it was observed that some strategies were positively related with the practice of plastic arts, these include strategies such as focused on emotional regulation and distancing from the stressful source.
