Implementación de una feria de salud mental con adolescentes en el regreso a las clases post COVID

Resumen
El regreso a clases presenciales en Perú tras la educación virtual por la pandemia trajo retos
emocionales para la comunidad educativa, evidenciando la falta de intervenciones
socioemocionales efectivas. El presente informe tiene como objetivo dar cuenta del logro de
las competencias profesionales psicológicas de diagnóstico, intervención y evaluación durante
el desarrollo de la práctica profesional. Dentro del rol practicante en psicología en una
Institución Educativa pública, se desarrolló e implementó una feria de salud mental que
buscaba promover herramientas para el cuidado de la salud mental. Dicha intervención se
realizó
con adolescentes en un contexto de incertidumbre durante la transición de las clases virtuales
a las presenciales debido a la crisis sanitaria. El diagnóstico mediante observación, entrevistas
y autorreportes reveló una brecha emocional, entendida como una diferencia en el desarrollo,
manejo y expresión de las emociones en los estudiantes. Para abordar esto, se implementó una
feria de salud mental basada en el programa de Habilidades para la Vida de la OMS, dirigida a
alumnos de 1° a 4° de secundaria. Las conclusiones sugieren la necesidad de programas más
prolongados, metodologías participativas y una evaluación integral que combine enfoques
cualitativos y cuantitativos. Además, se propone capacitar continuamente a la comunidad
educativa en habilidades socioemocionales y garantizar recursos sostenibles. Futuras
investigaciones podrían explorar cómo el entorno escolar, visto como un espacio social
cohesionado, influye en el bienestar emocional de los estudiantes y su participación en
intervenciones.
The return to in-person classes in Peru after virtual education during the pandemic brought emotional challenges for the educational community, revealing the lack of effective socioemotional interventions. This report aims to present the achievement of professional psychological competencies in diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation during the development of professional practice. As part of the psychology intern's role in a public educational institution, a mental health fair was developed and implemented with the goal of promoting tools for mental health care. This intervention was carried out with adolescents in a context of uncertainty during the transition from virtual to in-person classes due to the health crisis. The diagnosis, conducted through observation, interviews, and self-reports, revealed an emotional gap, understood as a difference in the development, management, and expression of emotions among students. To address this, a mental health fair was implemented based on the World Health Organization's Life Skills program, targeting students from 1st to 4th year of secondary school. The conclusions suggest the need for longer-term programs, participatory methodologies, and a comprehensive evaluation approach that combines both qualitative and quantitative methods. Furthermore, it is proposed that the educational community receive continuous training in socioemotional skills and that sustainable resources be ensured. Future research could explore how the school environment, viewed as a cohesive social space, influences students’ emotional well-being and their participation in interventions.
