Abstract
The present study aimed to examine the relationship between abortion attitudes and stigma, ambivalent sexism and religiosity in both Lima and Barcelona. For this reason, a quantitative study was conducted with 214 participants from Lima and 115 from Barcelona. The results show that there are direct and significant relationships between “pro-life” attitudes and the other variables mentioned in both cities. “Pro-choice” attitudes were inversely related to abortion stigma, ambivalent sexism, and religiosity. In addition, there are significant differences between ambivalent sexism, attitudes, and stigma towards abortion according to the city. Participants in Lima had higher levels of "pro-life" attitudes, ambivalent sexism, and abortion stigma than respondents in Barcelona. In contrast, Barcelona presents higher levels of "pro-choice" attitudes. Furthermore, significant differences were found according to sex.
