Abstract
The present thesis describes the preparation, characterization, and use of poly (methylene blue)/glassy carbon electrode for the detection of dipyrone in aqueous solutions. Modification of the electrode with methylene blue polymer was developed for electropolymerization in the potential range from –0.75 to 1.0 V vs. SCE for 30 scans. The properties of poly (methylene blue)/glassy carbon electrode was studied by different methods such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry. The modified electrode showed good electrocatalytic response to dipyrone in comparison to an unmodified electrode. Under optimal conditions, the proposed method showed a linear response for dipyrone concentrations in the range 2x10-4mol/L to 5x10-3 mol/L of dipyrone and the detection limit was 1x10-4mol/L of dipyrone.
