Abstract
En nuestro país están implementando iniciativas de promoción de desarrollo
económico local. Una de ellas es la que se realizó en el distrito de San Sebastián
(Cusco), que buscó lograr la consolidación del distrito como el “distrito del mueble”.
El trabajo hace un estudio de los procesos que permitieron la asociatividad de la red
de carpinteros del distrito de San Sebastián (Cusco) y los beneficios sociales,
económicos y organizativos que ha logrado este grupo en el marco del desarrollo
económico local. El escenario de estudio fue las primeras cuadras del distrito de San
Sebastián, lugar donde se concentran los carpinteros y empresarios para la venta de
muebles en madera en la región Cuzco. Los sujetos del estudio fueron 8 carpinteros
que participaron en el proceso de constitución de la Red de Carpinteros.
El trabajo de investigación es de naturaleza cualitativa. Se usó como principal
herramienta la entrevista a profundidad, que nos brindó información valiosa respecto
a la participación de los involucrados, su identificación, su compromiso, así como
también nos permitió apreciar mediante su lenguaje corporal otras expresiones de
logro personal, como el expresado cuando indican que sus hijos son profesionales o
cuando cuentan que sus ingresos mejoraron.
Se consideró las categorías: asociatividad y organización, visión empresarial y
aspectos sociales. El estudio demostró un alto grado de participación e
involucramiento del proceso por parte de la Municipalidad, el CEC Guamán Poma de
Ayala y, principalmente, los carpinteros, entendiendo esta como un objetivo común,
una sola dirección y una fortaleza ante cualquier programa público o privado.
Sobresalió la importancia de la organización y lo difícil que es mantenerla en el largo
plazo.
La categoría visión empresarial dio muy buenos frutos al ampliar el modo de ver las
cosas desde el punto de vista empresarial, considerando el mercado, la competencia,
la planificación, el cliente, la calidad, la formalización, la garantía ofrecida, la
diferenciación del producto.
En el aspecto social destacó la importancia de los carpinteros y sus familias a la
educación de sus hijos, quienes en muchos casos logran tener una carrera
universitaria; respecto al aspecto de “la generación de empleo”, vemos que este se
incrementa por el uso de mano de obra, pero las condiciones son de empleo informal.
In our country, initiatives to promote local economic development were implemented, one of which was carried out in the District of San Sebastian, which sought to consolidate the District as the "Furniture District". The work makes a study of the processes that allowed the associativity of the network of carpenters of the district of San Sebastian Cuzco and the social, economic and organizational benefits that this group has achieved in the framework of local economic development. The study scenario was the first blocks of the district of San Sebastian, where carpenters and businessmen gather to sell wooden furniture. Cuzco Region. The subjects of the study were 08 carpenters who participated in the process of Constitution of the Carpenters Network. The research work is qualitative in nature. The in-depth interview was used as the main tool, which provided us with valuable information regarding the participation of those involved, their identification, their commitment, as well as allowing us to appreciate, through their body language, other expressions of personal achievement, such as the one expressed when they indicate that their children are professionals or when they say that their income improved. The categories were considered: associativity and organization, business vision, social aspects, study that showed a high degree of participation and involvement of the process by the Municipality, the Guaman Poma de Ayala CEC and mainly the carpenters, understanding this as a common goal, a single direction and strength before any public or private program, the importance of the organization and how difficult it is to maintain it in the long term stood out. Business vision, category that gave very good results by expanding the way of seeing things from the business point of view, considering: the market, the competition, the planning, the client, the quality, the formalization, the guarantee offered, the differentiation of the product. Social aspects within which he stressed the importance of carpenters and their families to education, achieving mostly professional children: architects, economists, accountants, engineers among other aspects, education is a priority for this group; the generation of employment although mostly informal employment.
