Abstract
componentes.
This research aims at exploring the level of Job Satisfaction and its relationship with the dimensions of the Burnout Syndrome in nurses from a public hospital. To this end, two measuring instruments were applied: Scale SL – SPC for workers and the Burnout Syndrome Inventory from Maslach y Jackson M.B.I. for health care workers to a sample of 50 nurses from a hospital in Metropolitan Lima, within an age range of 25-32 years. The results suggest that the nurses from this public hospital have a low Job Satisfaction level and the dimension with the lower score is Task Meaning. Furthermore, they registered low levels on the three dimensions of Burnout Syndrome. Nevertheless, the global low degree in Personal Realization and average levels in Emotional Fatigue and Loss of Personal Identity in more than thirty percent of the nurses, make possible to consider a representative trend of the development of Burnout Syndrome. Finally, this investigation showed relationships between the dimensions of both variables.
