Satisfacción, autoeficacia y motivación en contextos académicos: un estudio empírico en estudiantes universitarios

Resumen
Muchas veces, la realidad de los estudiantes universitarios se ve caracterizada por episodios
de estrés agudo, falta de motivación o descontento general con su experiencia académica. En
muchos de estos contextos difíciles, entra en juego el grado de satisfacción que tiene el
estudiante al momento de evaluar globalmente su experiencia en la universidad. Al tratarse
de un constructo altamente complejo y multidimensional, la satisfacción académica puede
ser estudiada en función de otras variables. En este marco, la presente investigación se
propuso estudiar las relaciones entre tres variables: satisfacción académica, motivación
académica y autoeficacia académica. Se desarrolló un estudio cuantitativo con diseño no
experimental donde se recolectó información de 113 estudiantes mayores de edad
matriculados en asignaturas humanísticas en una universidad privada de Lima Metropolitana.
Los hallazgos arrojaron correlaciones significativas positivas entre la satisfacción académica,
la autoeficacia y los subniveles de motivación intrínseca. Tras haber probado distintos
modelos de regresión, se realizó un análisis de mediación donde se encontró que la variable
de autoeficacia influye en la satisfacción académica fundamentalmente a través de su impacto
en la autodeterminación de los estudiantes universitarios.
Often, the reality of university students is characterized by episodes of acute stress, lack of motivation, or general dissatisfaction with their academic experience. In many of these difficult contexts, the degree of satisfaction that students have when evaluating their overall experience at university comes into play. As it is a highly complex and multidimensional construct, academic satisfaction can be studied in relation to other variables. Within this framework, the present study aimed to examine the relationships between three variables: academic satisfaction, academic motivation, and academic self-efficacy. A quantitative study with a non-experimental design was conducted, collecting information from 113 adult students enrolled in humanities courses at a private university in Metropolitan Lima. The findings revealed significant positive correlations between academic satisfaction, selfefficacy, and sublevels of intrinsic motivation. After testing different regression models, a mediation analysis was performed, which found that the self-efficacy variable influences academic satisfaction primarily through its impact on the self-determination of university students.
