Abstract
This research raises the understanding of community participation in adolescent women from social organizations in the province of Huamanga, in Ayacucho. A qualitative methodology was used, and data collection was through eleven semi-structured interviews. The results were organized into four dimensions: Meaning of participation, Community participation, Women and participation, and Adolescents and participation. From this, we sought to understand what participation means for adolescents and the way they exercise it in the places where they live. Likewise, how they have experienced participation from their condition as women and finally from the point of view of being adolescents. It was found that participation is conceptualized as a process in which at the personal level it implies the deployment of capacities and at the community level thinking and doing to achieve joint well-being. Adolescents have greater ties to their communities, they have an impact at the local community; Many of the interviewees find themselves in an association because of the example they follow from their relatives or people of reference. Likewise, it should be noted that adolescents are empowered in the defense of the rights of children and adolescents and are critical of the social problems in their environment. One of the first ideas to work on is that adults who make decisions at the see them as people with real and serious proposals for change.
