Abstract
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal identificar y describir la relación entre la sintomatología depresiva y las dimensiones de perfeccionismo en una muestra de 285 jóvenes universitarios entre los 18 y 29 años de edad de una universidad privada de Lima Metropolitana. Para el cumplimiento de tal objetivo, se empleó la adaptación argentina del Inventario de Depresión de Beck – II (BDI – II) (Beck et al., 2006) y la adaptación española de la Escala Multidimensional de Perfeccionismo (Rodríguez, Rojo y Sepúlveda, 2009). Los resultados muestran una relación directa y significativa entre la sintomatología depresiva y dos dimensiones del perfeccionismo: perfeccionismo auto orientado y perfeccionismo socialmente prescrito. Se encontraron diferencias significativas según carrera elegida y lugar de procedencia tanto para la sintomatología depresiva, como para las dimensiones de perfeccionismo, las cuales fueron discutidas.
