regional. Usó, metodología de tipo descriptivo-correlacional, método cuantitativo,
diseño no experimental-transversal.
The research is related to the critical factors in the preparation of technical files that are associated with project management according to the PMBOK Guide in buildings executed by a regional government in 2024. The objective was to determine the association between the independent and dependent variables within the regional government. A descriptive-correlational methodology was used, with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. Data was collected from 42 civil engineers with extensive experience in public and private projects. A non probability convenience sampling method was used, selecting participants engineers who had participated in building projects in both the private and public sectors based on easy access and availability during the data collection period, without a specific criterion directly related to the research. To gather the information, two questionnaires were created as instruments: one for the preparation of technical files and the other for project management according to the PMBOK Guide in regional government buildings. These instruments demonstrated internal consistency scores of 0.790 and 0.857 respectively, making them suitable for application. The results obtained regarding the status of the variables showed that technical files and their critical factors are currently being developed at a regular level. This is because some key aspects are being met, but there are still certain inconsistencies or delays in documentation, risk identification, and adherence to regulations. Similarly, the PMBOK Guide and its categories are being applied at a regular level. It was concluded that the preparation of technical files is significantly and positively associated with PMBOK-based project management. Furthermore, the critical factors of scope, time, cost, quality, and resources identified in the operationalization matrix are directly associated with the preparation of technical files that are related to PMBOK-based project management in buildings executed by a regional government in 2024.
