This research stems from concerns about the increasing marine pollution along the northern coast of Peru, an environmental challenge that has negatively impacted both biodiversity and the quality of life in coastal communities. The issue underlying this research-creation is the lack of effective spaces for activism in favor of ocean conservation in this region, including the fashion industry, which has significantly contributed to marine pollution through the use of unsustainable materials and harmful production practices. To address this problem, the development of an activist fashion collection inspired by the Chimú culture is proposed, representing a model of respect and preservation of the sea. This proposal aims to confront marine pollution and promote sustainability through design, specifically through clothing, exploring new ways of connecting with the environment through the dressed body. It focuses on a conscious creation in harmony with the territory, integrating recycled materials and sustainable practices that reflect a strong commitment to both environmental preservation and Chimú cultural heritage. In this way, the clothing not only serves the purpose of dressing but also becomes a medium for fostering environmental and cultural awareness.
