identificaron cuatro temas principales.
This research aims to understand the experiences of post-traumatic growth and social support in COVID-19 patients that were hospitalized in Metropolitan Lima. The study was carried out from a qualitative approach, through in-depth interviews with seven individuals hospitalized between 2020 and 2021, whose ages ranged from 43 to 67. Through thematic analysis, four main themes were identified. The first highlighted social support as an essential resource during hospitalization and recovery, highlighting the role of meaningful bonds, in-hospital contact, support between patients, and its limitations. The second addressed transformations in interpersonal relationships, with greater appreciation for close ties and strengthened communication. The third showed changes in personal perception and philosophy of life, with greater self-care, gratitude, redefinition of priorities, and altruistic behaviors. The fourth reflected the reconstruction of meaning through the dimensions of post-traumatic growth proposed by Tedeschi and Calhoun. To date, the positive aspects of the experience of patients who have overcome COVID-19 have not been exhaustively researched in Peru. This study contributes to establishing the foundations of research in this specific area.
