Abstract
tomar.
The purpose of this research is to analyze the perceptions of pre-school teachers on decision-making in school management in private educational institutions. For this purpose, the concepts of decision-making and school management were defined; and teacher participation in school management was investigated. The following study was developed from a qualitative approach and method, through which we were able to approximate the reality of pre-school teachers, from different private educational institutions in Metropolitan Lima, to gather their perceptions about the context in which they are involved and committed; such information was collected through semi-structured interviews where an interview guide was used as an instrument. Finally, the analysis of the findings allows us to conclude that the decisionmaking process in the school management of private educational institutions includes the participation of all educational actors, mainly the participation of teachers. In turn, it can be inferred that the importance of decision-making lies in the capacity of the institutions to adapt to the context and to respond to specific situations as well as to solve problems. It is also concluded that each of the educational actors has a style for making decisions and this varies according to the personal characteristics of the individuals, the context in which they develop and the relevance of the decision to be made.
