Abstract
El presente estudio de investigación aborda la capacidad en brindar el
servicio de suplementación de hierro a niños de 6 a menos de 36 meses de
edad, cuya distribución y consumo tiene influencia directa en la prevalencia
de la anemia, actualmente considerada como un grave problema de salud
pública que afecta gran parte de la población del país, con un promedio
que supera el 43.5% a nivel nacional y 45.1% en el departamento de
Amazonas. El objetivo es analizar la cobertura del servicio de
suplementación con hierro a niños y niñas de 6 a menos de 36 meses en el
distrito de Pisuquia, provincia de Luya, departamento de Amazonas, en el
marco del Programa Articulado Nutricional. A partir de ello, se proponen
tres objetivos específicos: primero, se busca evaluar la disponibilidad de
suplementos de hierro en los establecimientos de salud de primer nivel de
atención. Segundo, se busca analizar el sistema de entrega de los
suplementos de hierro a los beneficiarios. Tercero, se busca evaluar el
interés de los beneficiarios respecto a la suplementación con hierro. De lo
analizado, se tiene que los factores limitantes para no lograr una adecuada
cobertura del servicio de suplementación con hierro a los niños y niñas de
6 a menos de 36 meses, son: i) poca disponibilidad de suplementos de
hierro en los establecimientos de salud, ii) débil sistema de entrega de
suplementos de hierro a los beneficiarios y iii) poco interés de los
beneficiarios respecto a la suplementación con hierro. Al respecto se
plantea una propuesta para afrontar las causas directas que afectan toda la
cadena de valor del servicio, estableciendo metas en la cobertura de
suplementación con hierro que contribuyan con la disminución de la
anemia.
This research study addresses the ability to provide iron supplementation service to children from 6 to less than 36 months of age, whose distribution and consumption has a direct influence on the prevalence of anemia, currently considered a serious health problem. public that affects a large part of the country's population, with an average of 43.5% nationally and 45.1% in the department of Amazonas. The objective is to analyze the coverage of the iron supplementation service for children from 6 to less than 36 months in Pisuquia district, Luya province, department of Amazonas, within the framework of the Nutritional Articulated Program. From this, three specific objectives are proposed: First, it seeks to evaluate the availability of iron supplements in health facilities of the first level of care. Second, it seeks to analyze the delivery system of iron supplements to beneficiaries. Third, it seeks to evaluate the interest of the beneficiaries regarding iron supplementation. From what has been analyzed, the limiting factors for not achieving adequate coverage of the iron supplementation service for children from 6 to less than 36 months, are: i) low availability of iron supplements in health facilities, ii) weak system of iron supplements delivery to beneficiaries, and iii) little interest of the beneficiaries regarding iron supplementation. In this regard, a proposal is presented to address the direct causes that affect the entire value chain of the service, establishing goals in the coverage of iron supplementation that contribute to the reduction of anemia.
