Abstract
The objective of this research is to analyze the construction of agency capacity in young residents of the Casa Don Bosco de Ayacucho, understanding the concept of agency as the capacity of individuals to make autonomous decisions, establish goals and actively pursue them, and exercise control over your own life. From a phenomenological approach, the experiences, experiences and perceptions were considered through in-depth interviews and a group workshop with young residents who were between 18 and 22 years of age and house workers. As part of the ethical aspects, it was taken into account to carry out the research, intervening only with those young people who are already completing their stage within the Don Bosco House, and who are of legal age. Among the main findings, it can be mentioned that young people, despite not having a clear concept of agency as such, have managed to link this to other concepts such as decision-making, leadership, autonomy and participation, concepts that throughout The process served to generate a better understanding in them and achieving their construction of agency from this. Although being institutionalized often limits them to only focusing on the Don Bosco House, it has also been seen that they have managed to strengthen many aspects within their daily experience and have been able to transfer it to their different environments. It is important that young people strengthen their transition process outside the home and develop the appropriate tools for their future life through the construction of agency.
