Discurso político polarizado en la prensa peruana durante las elecciones presidenciales del 2021: Casos de los editoriales de El Comercio y La República

Resumen
Desde las ciencias políticas, suelen ser frecuentes los estudios de los fenómenos
políticos desde una diversidad de actores, como los partidos, los candidatos, los empresarios
en el poder, etc.; sin embargo, los medios de comunicación, a pesar de ser parte integrante del
sistema político (entendido en su conjunto y no como acción política partidaria), son
abordados frecuentemente desde las ciencias sociales. Cabe resaltar que la política, en tanto
praxis y cognición, está marcada también por estrategias discursivas que construyen los
diversos actores que conforman la cotidianeidad, entre ellos los llamados mass media. En la
presente investigación, se examinan los discursos de los editoriales de los diarios La
República y El Comercio, para determinar cómo operan los mecanismos de enmarcado en la
construcción de una narrativa polarizadora durante el escenario poselectoral hasta la toma de
mando del expresidente Pedro Castillo. Para ello, se busca apelar a técnicas instrumentales
desde los estudios de la comunicación de masas (análisis de contenido), sumado al análisis
crítico del discurso (ACD), cuyas posibilidades de aplicación interdisciplinaria pueden
permitir enfocarnos en develar qué discursos ideológicos políticos se esconden detrás del
producto periodístico señalado. A ello, le sumamos el uso de herramientas cualitativas, como
las entrevistas a profundidad para complementar el estudio y el cumplimiento de los objetivos
trazados. Planteadas las principales teorías desde los medios de comunicación, como la
opinión pública y la agenda-setting, además del framing y de la acción política, discurso,
semántica y significante vacío, el presente trabajo también pretender aportar al entendimiento
del papel cada vez más activo que cumplen los medios en la política electoral peruana.
According to the political science, studies of political phenomena are frequently conducted from a variety of actors, such as parties, candidates, business leaders in power, etc. However, the media, despite being an integral parto of the political system (understood as a whole and not as partisan political action), are frequently approached from the social sciences. To this end, we seek to employ instrumental techniqes from mass communication studies (content analysis) and critical discourse analysis (CDA), whose interdisciplinary application possibilites allow us to focus on uncovering the ideological and political discourses hidden behind the journalistic product in question. We also employ qualitative tolos, such as in-depth interviews, to complement the study and achieve the objectives outlined. Having presented the main theories of the media, such as public opinion and agenda-setting, as well as framing and political action, discourse, semantics, and empty signifiers, this paper also aims to contribute to an understanding of the increasingly active role played by the media in Peruvian electoral politics.
