“INC.ORPORAR”: una colección que desafía las normas corporales y reconstruye la morfología del cuerpo mediante el habitar de lo abyecto

Abstract

La presente investigación toma como punto de partida el estudio y análisis del planteamiento conceptual del cuerpo en la era contemporánea, que influenciada e impulsada por la industrialización y la tecnología, ha transformado la percepción que tenemos en torno a él. Este cuerpo se ha convertido en un objeto moldeado bajo las normas y expectativas sociales, generando un conflicto entre el sistema y la necesidad del cuerpo de sobrepasar los límites que este antepone. Este proyecto tiene como objetivo crear propuestas que sobrepasen los límites del cuerpo y exploren todas las posibilidades que este ofrece, dirigidas a personas entre 18 y 30 años caracterizados por su constante interacción con la vida cultural y social de la ciudad, cuestionando las influencias que moldean su identidad y su relación con el cuerpo en un entorno industrializado. Teóricamente, se estudia la influencia de las sociedades y las construcciones culturales del cuerpo, con autores como Le Breton (2002) que aborda el cuerpo como un “continente” por su extensión infinita de posibilidades, percepciones y usos. Por otro lado, artistas como Daisy Collingridge cuyo trabajo celebra la diversidad corporal con propuestas que desafían la forma humana, o Bart Hess y Lucy McRae quienes exploran la interacción del cuerpo humano con materialidades foráneas apostando por romper con los arquetipos corporales. En este contexto, la hipótesis de este proyecto se centra en como la prótesis se integra no únicamente como un objeto funcional sino como una representación sensible de la evolución corporal, capaz de desafiar las normas sociales y reconstruir un nueva visión personal. El objetivo general es crear una colección de indumentaria que contenga piezas que desafíen la norma, reflejen la capacidad mutable del cuerpo y habiten lo abyecto, incorporando y reinterpretando rasgos que permitan explorar una nueva dimensión corporal. Para llevarlo a cabo, este proyecto se trabajo como investigación - creación con el apoyo de la metodología del doble diamante, a través de etapas de descubrimiento, definición, desarrollo y entrega. Este proceso cualitativo se baso en la recopilación y análisis de datos e imágenes, desarrollo de experimentaciones gráficas, morfológicas y matéricas, que terminaron en la creación de una colección que no solo desafía las normas corporales establecidas, sino que también propone una nueva forma de habitar y representar el cuerpo con un enfoque abyecto dentro de un entorno industrializado, contribuyendo a redefinir las influencias sociales sobre la identidad corporal.

This research takes as its starting point the study and analysis of the conceptual approach to the body in the contemporary era, which, influenced and driven by industrialization and technology, has transformed our perception of it. This body has become an object molded by social norms and expectations, generating a conflict between the system and the body's need to surpass the limits it imposes. This project aims to create proposals that go beyond the limits of the body and explore all the possibilities it offers, aimed at people between 18 and 30 years of age, characterized by their constant interaction with the cultural and social life of the city, questioning the influences that shape their identity and their relationship with the body in an industrialized environment. Theoretically, the influence of societies and cultural constructions of the body is studied, with authors such as Le Breton (2002) who addresses the body as a "continent" due to its infinite extension of possibilities, perceptions and uses. On the other hand, artists such as Daisy Collingridge, whose work celebrates bodily diversity with proposals that challenge the human form, or Bart Hess and Lucy McRae, who explore the interaction of the human body with foreign materials, seeking to break with bodily archetypes. In this context, the hypothesis of this project focuses on how the prosthesis is integrated not only as a functional object but as a sensitive representation of bodily evolution, capable of challenging social norms and reconstructing a new personal vision. The overall objective is to create a clothing collection containing pieces that challenge the norm, reflect the body's mutable capacity, and inhabit the abject, incorporating and reinterpreting features that allow for the exploration of a new corporeal dimension. To carry it out, this project was carried out as a research-creation process supported by the double diamond methodology, through stages of discovery, definition, development, and delivery. This qualitative process was based on the collection and analysis of data and images, and the development of graphic, morphological, and material experiments, resulting in the creation of a collection that not only challenges established bodily norms but also proposes a new way of inhabiting and representing the body with an abject approach within an industrialized environment, helping to redefine social influences on bodily identity.
