Abstract
The objective of this research was to explore and describe the observed and reported sensitivity of a group of 6 mothers with infertility history who conceived using IVF. They were 33 to 41 years old and their babies were only child and under 3 years old. They were assessed using the Maternal Behavior Q-sort (MBQS) using both observation and self-report modes. It was found that, in some domains of sensitivity, mothers who conceived through IVF could have similar scores to what is ideally expected and, even, in other domains, they could have higher scores than the ideal criterion. Also, it should be mentioned that these mothers could be as sensitive as a group of colombian mothers who conceived without any treatment. Furthermore, it was found that reports of mothers had some consistency with the observed behavior in all domains of sensitivity.
