Resumen
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el efecto del balance vida-trabajo sobre
el engagement laboral en docentes de Educación Básica Regular (EBR) de instituciones
educativas de Lima Metropolitana. Para ello, se aplicaron dos escalas a 81 docentes, 63 mujeres
(77.8%) y 18 hombres (12.2%), cuyo rango de edad comprende desde los 21 hasta los 69 años
(M = 46.1; DE = 11.5). Las escalas utilizadas fueron las siguientes: Utrecht Work Engagement
Scale (UWES-9) y Work-Life Balance Self-Assessment Scale. Los resultados obtenidos
evidencian que el balance vida-trabajo representa un predictor del engagement laboral (F(3,77)
= 20.94, p < .001). Asimismo, se encontró una diferencia significativa en los puntajes de
engagement laboral entre docentes mujeres y hombres (t (79) = 1.77; p = .04).
The present research aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance on work engagement in teachers of Regular Basic Education (EBR) of schools in Lima. For this reason, two scales were applied to 81 teachers, 63 women (77.8%) and 18 men (12.2%), whose age range is from 21 to 69 years (M = 46.1; SD = 11.5).
