Abstract
A través
This research analyses the structural elements of the current classical guitar teaching model used in higher education, as they are represented in the classical guitar program of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). Through a brief historical review of the way classical music has been taught traditionally, an examination of the content of the syllabus and the interview of the current students, alumni and teachers of the classical guitar program of the PUCP, this research seeks to reflect on the ideological discourses that underlie this model. The main purpose of this study is to encourage debate about the way classical guitar is taught today. It is hoped that the results found here can help future researches to propose new pedagogical strategies or changes. This study is divided in three chapters: the first consists in a brief historical review of the teaching tradition of classical music; the second chapter contextualizes the points developed in the first chapter in the classical guitar program of the PUCP; and the third chapter explores the possible changes that can be made to the current model and its possible consequences.
