Abstract
La presente investigación se realizó bajo el paradigma cualitativo y tuvo como
objetivo conocer las causas atribuidas al éxito y fracaso en la elaboración de tesis de los
alumnos de las menciones de psicología clínica, educacional y social de una universidad
privada de Lima. La principal fuente de información fue una entrevista semiestructurada
y, posteriormente, se realizó un proceso de validación con los participantes
para verificar los resultados hallados. El asesor de tesis constituye la razón principal que
atribuyen los participantes en este estudio al explicar sus resultados, seguido por su rol
como tesistas, es decir las características que un tesista debería poseer, como el gusto,
disfrute e interés por distintas partes de una investigación y su nivel de valoración sobre
la elaboración de la tesis. Otras atribuciones encontradas fueron a la habilidad, al
manejo de recursos, a las características personales, a la facilidad o dificultad para
realizar una tesis, entre otras. Además, se exploró el proceso por el cual se genera una
atribución causal, así como las emociones producidas en los tesistas por las experiencias
durante la elaboración de sus tesis, entre las que resaltan las de felicidad y frustración.
This research was conducted under the qualitative paradigm and aimed to know the attributions that cause success and failure in thesis elaboration of students in clinical, educational and social psychology at a private university in Lima - Peru. Data was collected with a semi-structured interview and then results were validated with participants. The thesis advisor is the main reason identified by the participants in this study to explain their results in thesis course, followed by their role as thesis students or the features that a thesis student should have, such as enjoyment and interest in different parts of an investigation and value level in thesis elaboration. Other attributions were the ability, resource management, personal characteristics, etc. In addition, we explored the process that generates a causal attribution and emotions caused by experiences of students in the elaboration of their thesis, where highlight the happiness and frustration.
