respectivamente.
Several investigations have studied the relationship between attachment styles and emotional regulation in university students, however, there is a nullity of them developed with college students with an academic scholarship. For this reason, the objective of this study is to explore the relationship between adult attachment styles with the strategies and difficulties of emotional regulation in scholarship students. This research included the participation of 285 students from a private university in Metropolitan Lima between the ages of 18 and 27 (M = 19.71, DE = 1.58), who were evaluated through the Adaptation of the Relationship Questionnaire to Spanish (Alonso-Arbiol, 2000), the Emotional Self-Regulation Questionnaire Adapted for Peru (Garguverich & Matos, 2010) and the Adaptation of the Emotional Regulation Difficulties Scale (Nuñez Del Prado et al., manuscript under review). Significant correlations were found between the mentioned variables and specifically, scholarship students with an insecure attachment style (high anxiety and avoidance scores) presented greater use of cognitive reappraisal and greater difficulties to regulate themselves. Likewise, significant differences were found comparing sex and type of scholarship, in which male scholarship participants used cognitive reassessment more than women. Finally, women and participants with a PRONABEC scholarship presented greater difficulties regulating their emotions compared to men and participants with a private scholarship, respectively.
