Abstract
This investigation aims to understand the suicidal experience from the knowledge and interpretation of the life experience stories of three women after actual suicide attempts. The study consisted of three women who attempted suicide that were admitted to a Mental Health Hospital in Metropolitan Lima. To accomplish the objective, a qualitative empirical study was carried out. Case studies were made and the information was processed by thematic analysis. The collection of information was conducted through multiple inputs: three conversations held with each of the subjects, pertinent information from their clinical history, and the researcher’s field journal. The results showed the presence of a traumatic bonding reality that hindered the construction of an autonomous self capable of coping and elaborating painful experiences. From this place, the attack on the body presents itself as a desperate flight from the intolerable psychic pain and the impossibility of imagining another solution. These results are analyzed in each case with their particular significance interpreted in light of the stories told.
