Resumen
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo medir la viabilidad de una propuesta ecoturística
en la finca “Don Salazar”, en Villa Rica. Para ello, el estudio se basó en investigación cualitativa,
utilizando la matriz de priorización de experiencias turísticas. La matriz evalúa variables
económicas, culturales, sociales y de sostenibilidad, y se valida por tres expertos mediante
entrevistas semiestructuradas. Además, se realizó un trabajo de campo en la finca para evaluar
infraestructuras y recursos, complementado con fichas de observación basadas en el inventario
de recursos turísticos de MINCETUR. También se analizarán las preferencias de turistas
potenciales (jóvenes de 20 a 35 años) a través de focus groups para construir el perfil comprender
sus motivaciones y expectativas sobre el ecoturismo en la región. Previamente, se llevaron a
cabo entrevistas exploratorias para contextualizar el problema.
Esta tesis busca aportar en el sector para que las fincas evalúen la posibilidad de incursionar en
la actividad turística desde una mirada sostenible, participativa y de mercado. El desarrollo de
actividades ecoturísticas en la finca "Don Salazar" tiene el potencial de crear empleo y fomentar
el emprendimiento local, contribuyendo al desarrollo económico de la región mediante el turismo
sostenible. Asimismo, la implementación de una experiencia ecoturística en la finca podría
enriquecer y diversificar la oferta turística de Villa Rica, captando la atención de viajeros
interesados en el turismo de naturaleza y aventura.
This research aims to assess the viability of an ecotourism proposal at the “Don Salazar” farm in Villa Rica. To achieve this, the study is based on qualitative research, using a prioritization matrix for tourism experiences. This matrix assesses economic, cultural, social, and sustainability variables and is validated by three experts through semi-structured interviews. In addition, fieldwork will be conducted at the coffee farm to evaluate infrastructure and resources, complemented by observation forms based on the tourism resource inventory from MINCETUR. The preferences of potential tourists (young people aged 20 to 35) will also be analyzed through focus groups to build a profile and understand their motivations and expectations regarding ecotourism in the region. Prior to this, exploratory interviews are conducted to contextualize the issue. This thesis seeks to contribute to the sector by encouraging coffee farms to consider entering the tourism activity from a sustainable, participatory, and market-oriented perspective. The development of ecotourism activities at Don Salazar farm has the potential to create jobs and promote local entrepreneurship, contributing to the region’s economic development through sustainable tourism. Likewise, implementing an ecotourism experience at the farm could enrich and diversify Villa Rica’s tourism offerings, attracting travelers interested in nature and adventure tourism.
