Abstract
This research arises from the need for valid and reliable instruments in Peru to assess the narrative discourse. Because of this, the aim of the research was to adapt and standardize the evaluation of narrative (EDNA) in 5 years-old children from public and private institutions of metropolitan Lima. The research is quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive level. The sample consisted of 350 children under 5 years O months to 5 years 11 months, which were selected by probabilistic sampling by clusters. Statistical analysis was performed to the adaptation of narrative assessment test and found to be valid and reliable. Each sub test is part of the EDNA reached acceptable reliability. It also made the content validity of the adaptation of the instrument, through the judgment of experts, who obtained a 68% identity, in terms of construct validity was determined by factor analysis method Varimax rotation, where it was shown that the test is organized into three factors as outlined in the original instrument. It is therefore concluded that the adaptation of the narrative test is a valid and reliable instrument with psychometric characteristics for metropolitan Lima.
