Abstract

This following study is quantitative which generally aims to identify characteristics of verbal expression in preschool children of the Callao Region and its main objective is to identify characteristics according to sex, age and according to the type of educational management. The sample consisted of 107 students from educational institutions both state and private Callao Region, divided into ages of 4 and 5 years taking into account gender and type of institution. The instrument used was the Child Verbal Expression Test - LVET Gonzales (2008) for the purpose of describing the Verbal Expression of preschoolers. Upon completion of the investigation, it was found that the sex variable had no differences because the children were in the same level of oral expression without showing a peculiarity or distinction mainly because sex is not a major factor that determines the characteristics thereof. In the age variable, differences were found because these are determined by the stages of acquisition of oral language development according to age. The type of educational management is desirable to take into account differences between one another, private and public, because those running these institutions are part of these distinctions as are those who supervise, monitor and train the teaching staff. The results indicate that it is reliable LVET as it is shown in Cronbach's alpha of 0.82, just as there is discriminative capability of its items.
