Educativa [I.E.] Privada de Lima Metropolitana. Para ello se evaluó a 433 adolescentes, 176
mujeres (40.6%) y 257 hombres (59.4%), con edades que fluctuaron entre los 12 y 15 años de
edad (M = 13.52, DE = 1.07).
The current investigation had the purpose to analyze the relationship between parental practices of monitoring, psychological control and the parental dimensions of responsiveness and demand, with the levels of the adolescent’s psychological well-being of a private educational institution of Lima. The sample consisted of 433 adolescents, 176 (40.6%) girls and 257 (59.4%) boys between the age of 12 and 15 years old (M = 13.52, SD = 1.07). The measure instruments used were the “Escala Parental Breve”, Scale of Psychological Control and the “Escala de Bienestar Psicológico para Jóvenes (BIEPS-J)”. Results showed that there were significant correlations between the psychological well-being of the adolescents and all the variables of parenthood, they were all positive correlations except for the psychological control that had a negative one. Moreover, significant differences were found between the female and male parental figure in responsiveness, monitoring and psychological control. The female parental figures had higher scores than the opponent figures. Furthermore, the adolescent boys perceived higher levels of responsiveness and monitoring from both of their parents, yet the adolescent girls perceived higher levels of psychological control from both of the parental figures.
