Valores, prosocialidad y bienestar subjetivo en la Policía Nacional del Perú

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la relación entre los valores, la conducta prosocial y el Bienestar Subjetivo durante el confinamiento social obligatorio decretado como una medida para enfrentar la pandemia del COVID-19 en los oficiales de la PNP de Lima Metropolitana y de la provincia de Chincha. Para lo cual, se utilizó instrumentos con apropiadas características psicométricas: Versión reducida del Cuestionario de Valores Sociales de Schwartz (Oceja et al., 2018), Escala de Prosocialidad (Martí-Vilar et al., 2020), Escala de Bienestar Subjetivo (Diener et al., 1985). En esta investigación se identificaron que los valores fundamentales más prominentes en la población estudiada son Conformismo, Universalismo, Autotrascendencia y Benevolencia. Asimismo, se encontró una relación entre estos valores y la inclinación de los individuos a realizar conductas prosociales, especialmente en la forma de ayuda hacia los demás.

The present research aims at analyzing the relationship between values, prosocial behavior, and subjective well-being during the mandatory social confinement decreed as a measure to face the COVID-19 pandemic in the officers of the National Police (PNP) in Lima Metropolitan and the province of Chincha. For this purpose, instruments with appropriate psychometric characteristics were used: a shortened version of Schwartz's Social Values Questionnaire (Oceja et al., 2018), the Prosociality Scale (Martí-Vilar et al., 2020), the Satisfaction with Life Scale (Diener et al., 1985), and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (Watson et al., 1988). This research identified that the most prominent core values in the studied population are Conformity, Universalism, Self-transcendence, and Benevolence. Likewise, a correlation was found between these values and individuals' inclination to engage in prosocial behaviors, especially in the form of helping others. Additionally, it was observed that individuals who scored higher in the prosocial behavior variable "Helping" also reported higher levels of Subjective Well-being.
