Abstract
In the context of criticism of the gender system, the present research aims to analyze the content of the comments expressed in news about the LGBT community published on the Facebook pages of the main national newspapers during 2017. These expressions were analyzed qualitatively, under which could be established two axes of analysis depending on whether people are for or against the LGBT community: a) the justification for their position, thus expressing their idea of "moral", and b) negative emotions towards the group considered external, based on the differences with them. So that, the analysis focuses on gender stereotypes and sexual prejudices. These, associated with negative intergroup emotions, generate the use of moral disconnection mechanisms and the human rights approach for the justification of violence and equality, respectively. Finally, it is discussed how, in the context of greater exposure of the LGBT community, social networks can function as a way to evoke the heteronormative gender system and replication of violence.
