Abstract
Highlighting the importance of studying violence against women, this research aimed to explore how adolescents define different forms of violence against women and their beliefs about perpetrators and victims. To this end, a qualitative research with a phenomenological design was carried out collecting information through a sociodemographic data sheet and a semi-structured interview with adolescent women between 15-16 years old in the 4th year of secondary school in a public school in Metropolitan Lima. Among the main results we have that the participants hold the belief that the main cause of manifestations of violence mentioned (street harassment against women, sexual violence against women, violence against women at home and violence against women in a relationship) is the sexist patriarchal system inscribed in society. Likewise, a portion of them blame the victim in each of the situations. For its part, specific aspects of the beliefs of victims and perpetrators of violence are identified in each of the types of violence. Finally, in terms of impacts, harm to the victim is identified at a comprehensive level.
