Abstract
The impact of advertising with nationalist content of a telecommunications company considered as a hatemark on national identity and aspects of brand evaluation is studied through an experimental design in a sample of Peruvians living in Lima (N = 71). The results show that to be exposed to this type of advertising leads to a greater acceptance of them. However, in the same group a greater distrust of the brand is also generated. These results indicate that in the case of a hatemark, the acceptance of advertising is done, but people need to validate the information that they see in the commercial, like receiving a good service from the brand to have a better assessment it.
