Abstract
Propuesta. Este estudio, bajo un enfoque fenomenológico, explora la experiencia
de las mujeres en el ecosistema emprendedor social en Perú. Específicamente, se
explora las dimensiones del ecosistema, la creación de los emprendimientos sociales,
los facilitadores y barreras que las mujeres deben enfrentar, y el rol que desempeña
el emprendimiento social para las propias mujeres.
Diseño/metodología/enfoque. La muestra estuvo constituida por 30 mujeres
peruanas fundadoras, propietarias y líderes de emprendimientos sociales en el Perú.
Los datos se recolectaron a través de entrevistas en profundidad y procesos de
observación directa, los cuales fueron codificados, categorizados y analizados según
las fases sugeridas por Moustakas (1994).
Hallazgos. El estudio propone un marco conceptual sobre la experiencia de las
mujeres en el ecosistema emprendedor social que incluye un mapeo de los actores,
las dimensiones del ecosistema y los factores individuales, sociales, culturales e
institucionales que influyen en la creación y desarrollo de emprendimientos sociales,
así como los facilitadores y barreras en el emprendimiento social, y el rol que
desempeñan estos emprendimientos en la vida de sus propias líderes y la sociedad.
Originalidad/valor. Los resultados ofrecen valiosa información para las
autoridades y responsables de promover los ecosistemas emprendedores sociales.
La originalidad de este estudio reside en su enfoque en Perú, un país con la mayor
tasa de participación femenina en la fuerza laboral de América Latina, ocupando
además el cuarto lugar en intención de emprender en la región y el octavo a nivel
mundial (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Perú, 2018-2019).
Purpose. This study employs a phenomenological methodology to examine the experiences of women leaders in the Peruvian social entrepreneurship ecosystem. It investigates the ecosystem dimensions, the creation of social enterprises, the facilitators and barriers that women must face, and the role that social entrepreneurship. Desing/methodology/approach. The sample comprised 30 peruvian women who are founders, owners, and leaders of social enterprises. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, which were coded, categorized, and analyzed following Moustakas's (1994) methodology. Findings. The study proposes an analytical framework for understanding women’s experience in the social entrepreneurship ecosystem, which includes a mapping of actors, ecosystem dimensions, the initiation and development of womenled social enterprises, highlighting individual, social, cultural, and institutional factors. It also explores the facilitators and barriers in social entrepreneurship and the role these enterprises play in the lives of their leaders and society, along with the resources they utilize. Originality/value. The results offer valuable insights for authorities and policymakers working to promote entrepreneurship ecosystems. The uniqueness of this study lies in its investigation in Peru, a country with the highest female labor force participation in Latin America, ranking fourth in entrepreneurial intent in Latin America and eighth globally (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Peru, 2018-2019).
