Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the relationship between hope and resilience in a group of adult cancer patients. To do this matter, we evaluated 51 patients between 22 and 74 years old. To measure hope, we use the Herth Hope Scale Revised (HHS-R) by Martínez, Cassaretto and Herth (2012). To measure resilience, we used the Resilience Scale for Adults (RSA) in its adapted version by Morote, Hjemdal and Corveleyn (2014). In addition, both constructs were analyzed according to sociodemographic and health variables. A positive relationship was found between hope and resilience as a whole, and in most of its dimensions. Among the sociodemographic variables, differences were found only according to age, in the areas of Self-perception and Social resources of resilience, as well as in the areas of Optimism/Spiritual support and Social support/Belonging of hope.
