Abstract
This State of the Art arises from the researcher's interest in the decrease in educational interactions between teachers and students, and between students, within the framework of remote education, due to the current situation of the Coronavirus. This is how this documentary research is aimed at analyzing the importance of collaborative learning (CL) in the modality of distance education at the primary education level. To this end, articles from specialized academic journals, undergraduate and graduate theses, as well as electronic books were consulted. All the information found was registered and systematized in research matrices that facilitated its appropriate analysis. The study is structured in three thematic nuclei, which include CL as a promoter of social interactions, as a promoter of academic performance and cognitive abilities and, finally, as a promoter of the development of values. This work highlights the contribution that CL has in remote education and explains the contribution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in this educational modality. It also questions the role of the State to ensure the implementation of the CL and emphasizes the importance of training, as well as the development of the technological competencies of teachers, in the context of distance education.
