La revolución del Teatro Latinoamericano: reflexiones sobre los movimientos sociales, la responsabilidad ética y su influencia en la performance del teatro en Latinoamérica

Abstract

Hacia finales de la década de los setenta, Latinoamérica se vio afectada por el sistema neoliberal, la crisis económica, el desplazamiento de poblaciones, la explotación de los suelos, las dictaduras militares y los grupos armados, que generaron caos a niveles preocupantes. Los movimientos sociales, en esta época, visibilizan las brechas sociales y demandan transformación en relación a la calidad de vida, derechos humanos y la institucionalización de órganos que los representen. Es en este contexto caótico, junto a los movimientos surrealistas, donde el teatro en Latinoamérica se verá influido y se reestructurará a nivel ético y poético. Los encargados de la labor artística teatral, modificaron la jerarquía, la dramaturgia y la estética movilizados por el sentido de compromiso para con su región. La consciencia que les confiere la imagen de un otro distinto a ellos les proporciona un sentido de responsabilidad ética, a partir del cual modificarán su representación y la performance del teatro latinoamericano. Por otro lado, podemos hablar de un Teatro Latinoamericano que es de carácter político pues tiene como fin transformar, denunciar y protestar en escena. Este articulo tiene como objetivo demostrar que la responsabilidad ética del representante configura la performance del teatro latinoamericano. Esto se debe a que este se transforma en una herramienta de provocación, denuncia y protesta que acciona en escena a través de la visibilización del contexto de desigualdad social y opresión de fines de los años setenta.Towards the end of the 1970s, Latin America was affected by the neoliberal system, the economic crisis, the displacement of populations, the exploitation of soils, military dictatorships and armed groups, which generated chaos at worrying levels. Social movements, at that time, made visible the social gaps and demanded transformation in relation to the quality of life, human rights and the institutionalization of bodies that represent them. It is in this chaotic context, together with the surrealist movements, where theater in Latin America would be influenced and restructured on an ethical and poetic level. Those in charge of the theatrical artistic work modified the hierarchy, the dramaturgy and the aesthetics mobilized by the sense of commitment to their region. The awareness that the image of the other different from them provided them with a sense of ethical responsibility, from which they will modify their representation and performance of Latin American theater. On the other hand, we can speak of a political Latin American Theater because it aims to transform, denounce and protest on stage. This article aims to demonstrate that the ethical responsibility of the actor shapes the performance of Latin American theater. This is due to the fact that it becomes a tool of provocation, denunciation and protest that operates on stage through the visibility of the context of social inequality and oppression of the late 1970s.
