Abstract
The objective of this research was analyzed the relationship between romantic attachment and tolerance of violence. For this, 250 university students between 18 and 24 years of age participated. The Revised Scale of Experiences in Close Relationships (ECR-R) was used to measure romantic attachment and the violence questionnaire (CUVINO) for tolerance of violence. Both of them in the versions adapted to Spanish. The results demonstrated that there is no association between the romantic attachment construct and tolerance of violence. In the same way, the group of women, only the dimension of anxiety correlated with tolerance of violence. Furthermore, regarding the specific objectives, significant differences were found for the romantic attachment construct according to the sentimental state, with students who were not in a relationship with the highest score for both anxiety and avoidance, while for the tolerance of violence, differences were found with respect to sex, with men showing the highest degree of tolerance and science majors who could tolerate violence more than Letters students
