Abstract
This research seeks to explore the influence of Animal Assisted Therapies on the Emotional Regulation of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (N=13) in an educational institution in Lima, Peru. The short version of the Child Behavior Questionnaire was applied as a previous and subsequent measure. From this, the Animal Assisted Therapy was found to have significant impact on the “Effortful Control” dimension. However, no significant difference was found in the “Surgency” and “Negative Affect” dimensions. This may be due to the particular characteristics of each individual and the duration of the study.
