Abstract
El objetivo de la presente investigación es conocer si los directivos de una institución
educativa emblemática se conciben como líderes transformacionales y analizar cómo esas
concepciones contribuyen en el desempeño de la institución. Los participantes de este estudio
fueron cinco directivos de los distintos niveles de la institución (inicial, primaria y secundaria)
quienes son la máxima autoridad del centro educativo. Se utilizó una metodología de
investigación cualitativa con un diseño de análisis temático, mediante el cual se analizaron las
concepciones de líder y las acciones del líder dentro de la institución educativa. Los resultados
obtenidos describen que los participantes se conciben como líderes de la institución y en base a
estos se han encontrado componentes de liderazgo transformacional, los cuales favorecen en su
desempeño como guías institucionales.
The aim of this research is to know if the directors of an educational institution consider themselves transformational leaders and analyze their conceptions in relation to their performance in the institution. In order to that, a qualitative research methodology was used with a thematic analysis design, the concepts of leadership and their performance in the institution were analyzed. Respect for results, the participants describe themselves as a leaders with characteristics of transformational leaders, these characteristics influence the performance of directors as institutional guides.
